The Midnight Tokyo Collection has been something we've been wanting to do for a few years now. We love celebrating other cultures through our designs. It gives us the opportunity to grow and learn about the differences we all share, and we hold ourselves accountable to teaching out what we've learned as best we can. Now, typically we'll release small capsules around different designs or ideas, but the more we started working on this capsule we realized very quickly it would need to be a full collection that we could break up into parts.
The Mother Blossom design was inspired of course by the cherry blossoms in Japan. They have an incredibly short life span, but are looked upon as the symbolic flower of spring, a time of renewal, and the fleeting nature of life. If you've bee with us a while, cherry blossoms have been an ongoing figure throughout our design work... The Midnight Ardeidae design was inspired by Tsuru no Ongaeshi, you can read more on our separate post by Clicking Here.
