The Midnight Society Portfolio

"Natalie and I started The Midnight Society back in 2015. I had just returned from a solo backpacking trip, and I was traveling extremely lightweight sleeping in a one person tent for nearly three months. Being a lover of both mementos and lapel pins ever since I was a kid, I decided to pick up an enamel pin from each country I visited along the way. When I returned home, Natalie and I decided it would be a fun idea to create one of our own, not realizing at the time that an enamel pin craze was just beginning online. We landed on the name, launched the shop, had a couple of stickers made, and for the first year enjoyed the process as an after work hobby. We started by filling orders in our living room, one by one, and the business slowly began to take over the second bedroom at our first house. Eventually we grew from enamel pins to apparel and various miscellaneous goods over the years as we began both collaborating and exploring different areas of both product and design. Eventually this led to us upgrading our living situation, and with that came both an office and a garage space for us to continue working out of. We've since launched two subsidiaries, so the space was well needed, and the knowledge we've gained from creating multiple online stores led us to managing a handful of friend's projects as well.

The Midnight Society has gone through many changes over the years, and those who have been with us since the beginning can attest to the evolution of this little brand. Over the years The Midnight Society has been the back-bone to not only our professional lives, but our personal lives as well. As the business has grown, we've grown with it, evolving from being in our 20s to our 30s now, and it's taught us many things including patience and hard work. Best of all it's connected us to some incredible people, both customers and now dear friends we would have never had the opportunity to meet or work with. After all these years it's still just the two of us behind the helm, and we've found that keeping things small works best for us and our now growing family.
